Pre-Round Briefing Texts: How to Sign Up

What these texts are

Altus Performance sends short, informational text messages to its own coaches and staff before a player’s tee time: a few lines on where the field’s shots have been going on the holes that player is about to play. The messages are not marketing or promotional.

How to sign up (the only way)

  1. From your own mobile phone, text START to the Altus Performance text number given in your invitation message (below).
  2. You immediately receive this reply: “Altus Performance: You are subscribed to pre-round briefing texts. Msg frequency varies (max 2 per player per round). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
  3. That is all. You are signed up. Signing up is optional and is not a condition of anything.

Where people see these instructions: on this page, and in a personal message from the Altus Performance account owner to each coach or staff member (below). There is no other way to sign up: no website form, no email sign-up, no QR code, no paper form and no verbal consent.

The invitation message

The owner of Altus Performance sends each person this message from their own phone:

Hi [first name], Altus Performance would like to send you Altus pre-round briefing texts: a short note before a player's tee time on where the field's shots are going.

TO TURN THEM ON (10 seconds):
Text START to [Altus Performance text number] from this phone.
You will get a confirmation text straight back.

No more than 2 texts per player per round, only before the tee time. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to turn them off.

What you will get, and what it costs

  • Messages: pre-round briefings only (the holes where the field’s shots stand out, before a player’s tee time).
  • How often: No more than two messages per player per round, and only before that player’s tee time.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
